Alquan Mendenhall
Men's Basketball
UWA senior guard Alquan Mendenhall helped the Tigers to a weekend split in the Gulf South Conference. Against Valdosta State on Thursday, Mendenhall shot 80 percent for the field, scoring 26 points - the second most in his career at West Alabama. With the win, the Tigers snapped a nine-game losing streak to the VSU.

Women's Basketball
Nikkia Jordan posted two stellar performances in losses over the week … The Decatur, Ala., native averaged 18.5 points, including a career-high 22 against Valdosta State … The junior also tallied a team-best 15 points in the narrow loss at West Florida … Jordan connected on just under 47-percent of her shots from the field while shooting 66-percent from behind the arc.
