Charles Martin was an All-American defensive lineman for the Tigers from 1980-82, was All-GSC twice and the GSC Defensive Player of the Year in 1982. Over his three-year career he recorded 173 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 19 sacks.

From Canton, Georgia, Martin began his professional football career with the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League in 1983. He then played in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers (1984-87) and Houston Oilers (1987) before finishing his career with the Atlanta Falcons (1988). In 76 career NFL games, he recorded 11 sacks.

Martin passed away in 2005 at the age of 46.
