The Tigers (17-5) are coming off a strong showing this past weekend at the University of West Georgia-hosted Wolves Invitational. UWA knocked off a pair of ranked opponents in No. 19 Augusta State and No. 14 Nova Southeastern. The Red and White closed out the invite by handing Rollins College its first loss of the season in a 9-8 decision.

Following Tuesday’s home twinbill, UWA will take on Stillman College on Wednesday, March 10 at 3 p.m. in Tuscaloosa. The UWA-SC softball action precedes the battle of the Tigers on the baseball diamond which is set for 6 p.m. on the SC campus. The Tigers continue the road trip on Saturday, March 13, as they open Gulf South Conference play at North Alabama. The trip moves to the state of Tennessee as UWA will take on NAIA foe Lambuth University on Sunday, March 14. The final leg of the trip will be a meeting with GSC West foe Christian Brothers on Monday, March 15.

After 22 games, UWA is hitting .292 as a team and has driven in 124 runs. The Tigers have posted 162 hits, including 65 extra base hits. UWA has been aggressive on the base paths with stout 45-of-49 stolen bases thus far on the season. In the circle, Junior Katie Ford pushed her season’s mark to a perfect 13-0 with four wins under her belt this past weekend, earning the wins against NSU, RC and GSW. She now owns the school mark for consecutive wins.
