LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama baseball team travels to Stillman College for a midweek outing on Thursday, Mar. 11. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

UWA (13-6) enters the contest after winning five straight to close out an eight-game homestand. The Tigers took down West Georgia in a midweek doubleheader and followed that with a weekend sweep of Talladega College.

The Red and White are 15-3 against in-state neighbor under Head Coach Gary Rundles. Wednesday’s affair marks the second meeting between the two institutions this season as SC claimed a 7-4 victory on Feb. 14. The win was the third in the last four tries for the Blue and Gold clad Tigers.

Brian Simone leads UWA at the plate as the Amherstburg, Ontario-native is hitting just under the .400 mark with a .397 batting clip for the season. The junior outfielder is second in doubles (8), tied for second in triples (1), third in RBI (16) and fourth in homeruns (2) for the year. Fellow junior Colin McKeen has posted a .388 batting average through the first 19 games and is second in homeruns (3) and RBI (18). Kasey Nafzger and Dom Sapp each picked up wins in their midweek starts last week as both tossed five innings on the mound. Sapp, a Geneva, N.Y.-junior, allowed two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts against the Wolves while Nafzger, a Westerville, Ohio-product, surrendered three runs on six hits with three KOs and a pair of walks.

The outing with SC is the first of four games away from Tartt Field as UWA opens Gulf South Conference action on Saturday, Mar. 13 at UAH.
