Wallace Returns to The Tuesday Night Coaches’ Show Lineup

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama Head Football Coach Bobby Wallace will return as part of The Tuesday Night Coaches' Show on ESPN 104.9 each Tuesday night of the football season, beginning August 17, from Batter Up in Demopolis, Ala.

The show, which enters its fourth year, alternates host sites between Batter Up and Austin's Steakhouse in Livingston, Ala. Wallace will join hosts Rob Pearson, Jay Reynolds and Jeremy Smith of the Demopolis Times, each week around 7:30 p.m. to discuss Tiger football. Tomorrow's show marks the 50th coaches' show, highlighting UWA and high school football in the ESPN 104.9 listening area.

“Coach Wallace's involvement has broadened our show's appeal well beyond its base. The football coaches, players and fans in East Mississippi and West Alabama have so much respect for Coach Wallace and his UWA program that our audience has expanded well beyond the local booster clubs,” said Pearson. “It's a tangible example of how football success at UWA has contributed to increased public interest in high school football in the Twin States.”

Pearson added, “By the end of last season, we had so many UWA supporters at our live broadcasts that we could have held UWA Alumni Association meetings at the same time. It was a lot of fun and we know this season will only be better.”

UWA enters the 2010 season with recognition in four pre-season national polls. The team appeared in the 2010 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Pre-Season Division II Coaches' Poll and the USA Today Pre-Season Poll ranked 12th while the Lindy's Pre-Season poll has the Tigers in 23rd and 24th in the Sporting News Preseason Top 25. UWA was selected second by the Gulf South Conference head coaches in the conference's pre-season poll, marking the team's highest pre-season ranking since 1976.

Kickoff for the RockTenn Classic is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Classic will be broadcasted on ESPN 104.9-FM with the broadcast beginning at approximately 6:15 p.m.
