LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Athletic Department will recognize 65 senior student-athletes and student athletic trainers at its annual Senior Banquet on Thursday. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at the Livingston Civic Center.
 
Additionally, Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, will honor 10 West Alabama student-athletes who are not yet seniors and six who are. Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout their junior and senior years. 
 
"We are certainly proud of all our student-athletes, but we are especially proud of our seniors," UWA Director of Athletics Stan Williamson said. "Among them are conference champions, honor students and champions for service to our community. They have represented UWA in a very positive manner."
 
The seniors and their guests will enjoy a barbecue dinner before receiving their senior awards and accolades from head coaches. Coaches from each sport, as well as athletic administrators, will also be in attendance at the event.
