2023 Men's Soccer Preview
LIVINGSTON, Ala.- A new season is coming swiftly into view for the Tiger's men's soccer club, and Head Coach Ross Nelson is more confident the ever in his squad of young men for the 2023 season. "The whole group, including the new guys, have been working tirelessly to not only be match fit, but also implement the type of game we want to play," said Head Coach Ross Nelson.
The men's club is welcoming three new first year additions in David Nunez from Gijon, Spain, Potein Lembo from Meaux, France, and Bailey Jeffries from Dachet, England, who are all on the preseason GSC Men's Soccer Newcomer Watchlist.
Sophomore Midfielder Shane Pettit was selected to the preseason All-GSC Team after a phenomenal first season in Livingston. The Tigers have been picked to finish 6th in the Gulf South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll with 82 votes, just Behind Auburn Montgomery (84) and Mississippi College (85).
The Tigers open regular season play with a neutral site trip to Vestavia Hills, Alabama to take on Carson-Newman on August 31st, followed by their home opener against North Georgia at Tiger Stadium in Livingston September 2nd. The Tigers open Conference play in Livingston against the Flames of Lee University on September 15th.
