BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of West Alabama forward Clay Green and goalkeeper Jack Moore are the Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer Player and Defender of the Week for the period ending on Sept. 30, as announced by the GSC office on Tuesday.
 
Both Green and Moore have played a pivotal role in UWA's current seven-game win streak with Green scoring both of West Alabama's goals in a 2-0 win against Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday, after scoring the first goal in a contest against  Shorter on Friday.
 
A native of Sidcup, England, Moore recorded a clean sheet in his lone start this week. Against the Chargers, Moore issued the shutout win with two saves on the afternoon.
 
Both players are freshmen who are playing in their first season for the school's inaugural men's soccer team. In the program's first year of existence, the Tigers are 9-1 through 10 games and have steamrolled GSC opponents with a perfect 5-0 record in the league.
 
West Alabama faces a pivotal road test this week as the squad travels to Pensacola, Fla., to take on West Florida Friday at 7:30 p.m.
