Onyango Wins 5,000 Meters, Four Tigers Earn All-Conference at GSC Meet

CLINTON, Miss.– Victor Onyango closed his West Alabama outdoor track career by winning the men's 5,000-meter race and four Tigers earned all-conference recognition as the West Alabama men finished sixth and the women eighth at the 2018 Gulf South Conference Track and Field Championships that concluded Saturday at James E. Parkman Track.
 
Onyango also finished third in the men's 10,000 meters and earned first team All-GSC honors. Oisin O'Gailin finished second in the men's 1500 meters and Kyle Rock second in the men's 800 to earn second team all-conference. JT Siggers took third in the men's discus.
 
Adrienne Lewis was second in the women's triple jump and third in long jump, earning second-team all-conference honors. Shameka Franklin finished third in both the women's 400 and 200-meter dashes.
